Following activities have been undertaken by the Services Organization during october 2005 to july 2007.
Organizing the Rural communities
As of july 2007 fourty (40)community organization/ development groups both male and female or both have been formed. These community development groups formed by the social organization section is meeting on monthly basis and discuss their needs ,development plans and submit their resolutions to the SERVICES ORGANIZATION for further actions. These organization have been provided awareness,skills, knowledge and required information to do discuss,prioritize and finalize the list of the needs with their possible share both in financially and technically to participate in the development process.
Training Programme:
One day training for the development managers (heads of the development groups/community organization has been conducted in the field unit mang.26 participants from the communities participated. 12 participants were female and 14 community heads were males.
Teachers Training
Three teachers training programme were conducted arranged by the Services Organization which are:
1. Two weeks training programmes were arranged with the cooperation of Da'wa Acadamy of international and islamic University islamabad during November 2005 and Augest 2006.This training programme was designed for college teachers ,five participants were nominated by organization then two training conducted by Da'wa Acadamy at islamabad.
2.Three training programmes were organized and conducted by pakistan education organization islamabad and offered to services organizationnominees who were college lectures at Waqar-un-Nisa girls college thorar.Gazi-e-millat school thorar and government girls degree college mang.11 Participants from these three institutions were sent to islamabad for the above three training programmes in the following disciplines.
3.Teachers of Mathematics
Teachers of English
Education management and supervision.
These programmes were arranged and conducted during june-july 2007.
Disaster Management and Leadership Training
This training was designed and coducted by National Commission for Human Development Distt.Office Rawalkot.Services Organizationominated two of its community members each other from Tehsil Mang and thorar.They participated for four days with drill of the Disaster Management at Rawalkot.
FUTURE TRAINING PROGRAMMES.
The organization has planned following training programme in next six months for the community member at field units Mang and Thorar
i. Poultry training for females
ii. Forest nursery training for females
iii Ready made garmade training for females
iv. Social mobilization training for male and female members
v. Grafting of fruit tree male and female
vi Record keeping at COs/DGs level
vii Training teachers for both male and female teachers
EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT
Services Organization taken over female college to impart quality education .Thus college wad originally established in 1998 and was function underthe supervision of local community members at Thorar.This college runs with its six classes from secondary to graduation level. Approximately 200 female students are studying in six classes .Following subjects/disciplinesare taught in these classes:\
a. General arts
b. General Science
c. Computer Science
d. Pre-medical
e. Pre-enginering
f. Physical education
This college has 16 female teachers with one principle with the facilities of
a.one rented building with required facilities
b.Computer Labortary
c.Three science labs
d One libary
This college is focusing on demonstration of knowlege by teachers in class rooms.Guidance and counseling is provided to students.The students are given social guidance advocacy human rights and orientation of self employment .College achieved the following targets to this time.
1. 60 female students have completed their graduian level education.
2. 20 graduated students are study at master level science and arts course at various universities and institutes of higher learning including law and education training programmes.
3. 200 female students have completed their intermediate level education from this college.
4. 30 Ex students have joined employment as teachers in local private schools.
5. 20 female students hae joined Govt. schools from this college
Earth Releif Work
19 widows have been offered cash amount to repair their damaged house during october8 earthquake .These widows were offered Rs 5000 each as releif amount.
5 people were offered Rs 5000 each as livehood support as they were unable to earn due to their old age and accident affected
200 destitude and earthquake affected were provided food items after earthquake during Dec.2005 and jan.2005.This included male ,female and orphans.
600 Earthaffected were provided clothes,blankets ,warmcoat, pullhovers and shoes.
200 students were offered uniforms including warm clothes during january 2006.
